Summer is almost over and school is quickly starting. Be sure and check with your school for information on what you need for the first day. Lunch boxes, backpacks, supplies, and books to just name a few. There are many after-school programs throughout Santa Clara County. Many cities offer their own programs, along with the YMCA and other non-profit organizations. Check out our Resources Page to see what we have listed in your area. Remember to have a disaster plan in place and understand your school's disaster plan, in case of an earthquake or other emergency. It is a good idea to have a small disaster kit in your child's backpack with pictures of family members and contact information. It is also great to have an earthquake kit in your car and home. The fall activities are ramping up in the area. It is time to start thinking about all the fun festivals, pumpkin patches, football games, and great fall weather. Check out our site often for our weekly events calendar and updates. And, if you know of any events you would like to see posted or any suggestions for our site, please send us an e-mail and let us know!
