Happy Soon To Be December ~

Check out the Upcoming Events below!

It is time to think about protecting your children during the holidays:

The holiday season is a time when busy people can become careless and vulnerable to theft and other holiday crimes. Specifically, the holidays can present potentially dangerous situations for children and teenagers. The following tips can help keep your children safe during this season:

  •  Teach children their full name, address and phone number.
  • Teach your child to go to a police officer, mall security or store clerk and ask for help in case he/she is separated from you.
  • Teach children to stay close to you at all times while shopping.
  •  Never allow children to make unaccompanied trips to the restrooms.
  • Teach children to immediately inform you if a stranger is bothering them.
  • Teach your child to yell "This is not my mom/dad," if a stranger tries to take them away from you.
  •  If possible, leave small children at home with a trusted babysitter.
  • Teach your teenagers to only drink from a can or bottle that they have opened themselves and have kept in their possession.
  • Teach your teenagers to not get in a car with someone who is drinking alcohol or doing drugs.  Ask them to call you or a trusted person.
  • Teach your child that shoplifting is never a joke.
  • Add an "ICE", In Case of Emergency number to your teenager's cell phone.

It is always a good idea to have your child professionally fingerprinted every year and have a recent photograph of their face.  You might also want to have an information card with an extra photograph and any information about your child, like birthmarks, hair and eye color, and anything else that would help identify your child on a piece of paper that is laminated.
